Who we are

Rick's Beijing Insider provides a mobile audio-guide service for visitors to Beijing. If you have questions about this policy or your information, email us at ricksbeijinginsider-support@kwlskj.cn.

Information we handle

We use only the information needed to provide and secure the service:

• Device and security information. The app creates a random device identifier and a cryptographic public key to register and secure your app session. We do not ask you to create an account with your name, phone number, or social profile.
• Purchase and entitlement information. When you make or restore an in-app purchase, we process the transaction and entitlement details supplied by Apple to provide the content you purchased. Payment card details are handled by Apple, not by us.
• Service and diagnostic information. Our servers process technical request information, such as IP address, request time, device identifier, and error or security logs, to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service.
• Information you choose to send us. If you contact support, we receive the information in your message and your email address so that we can respond.

Location and device permissions

The app may ask for location permission to support map and nearby-guide features. Your precise location is used on your device for those features and is not sent to our servers as part of normal use. You can change location permission at any time in your device settings.

The current version does not require access to your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone to provide its core audio-guide experience.

How we use information

We use the information above to deliver guides and purchases, maintain authentication and security, prevent abuse, respond to support requests, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.

Sharing

We share information only when needed to run the service: with Apple for in-app purchase processing, and with infrastructure providers that host and secure our service under our instructions. We may also disclose information when required by applicable law or to protect the service, our users, or others.

Retention

We keep device, purchase, and operational records only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including security, accounting, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Support messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and maintain a support record.

Your choices and requests

You can stop using the app at any time and control permissions in your device settings. To request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your device or support request, email ricksbeijinginsider-support@kwlskj.cn. Include enough information for us to find the relevant record without sending sensitive information in plain text.

Children

Rick's Beijing Insider is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International processing

Information may be processed in the countries where we or our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to protect information in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this website when appropriate.
